HAPPY NEW YEAR!
NEWSLETTER:
The new format for the Declare The Word Newsletter has been completed. It is larger and packed with more articles and information. We will start printing the end of the second week in January with the first batches going out in the mail by the end of January. Your prayers and financial support is needed. This endeavor takes a lot of time and money to accomplish. We were quoted over $5000 to have our newsletter printed; but we can do it inhouse for $1000 and a lot of sweat equity. We chose the sweat equity. Look for it and the new ministries that are being highlighted, I'm sure you will be blessed! If you know someone who would enjoy receiving the newsletter, forward us their postal address and name and we'll put them on our mailing list.
TRAVEL: Stay tuned for the travel schedule on our www.declaretheword.com website as we go to Maryland and the Washington D.C. area. We haven't firmed up all our travel for 2007-2008 yet.
BIRTHING A NEW THING...
It never fails to amaze me, how I can go singing along the path, thinking that I know where I'm going and wondering when I'll arrive and then BAM out of nowhere the direction changes or there's a log on the road or worse yet the road is washed out. Sound familiar?
Well I was traipsing along, and I knew that someday, maybe this would come along, but the way I pictured it was a bit different, but BAM it's presented itself and here I am working in another direction, but yet a part of the whole. Make sense?
ALL THAT TO SAY... We are starting our own broadband television station. Great you say! Well.. I'm reminded of Moses "What's that in your hand?" "A rod" "Throw it down" So, "what do we have, Buffy?" "A single car garage." "Use that!"
So we've stripped it down to the studs, plasticed the walls, put in a door and sealed the garage door. We're in the process of putting in the insulation. I'm looking over the patio furniture for seating and figuring out how to design the set. God has sent someone with a camera and an editing equipment. I have a computer that I was going to use for something else and the Lord has given the wisdom and know how to someone else regarding the software necessary to do this.
We didn't have the money for the software, so I prayed, and I got a call from someone else wanting a copy of my gospel CD, she came over and brought a check for the amount needed for the software. I burst into trears. I guess God really wants us to do this. "You think?"
Suffice it to say that January and I guess February will be taken up with TV filming and broadcasting. Our on-air target date is March 1st.
THE PROGRAMMING VISION...
SHOW 1: In The News A news type show, this will give you updates on what is happening in Declare The Word, and the ministries that make up Declare The Word International. We'll have testimonies from Truckers, Seniors, Missions; and eventually have world events and their biblical perspective.
SHOW 2: Declare The Word A weekly bible study and discussion group on what we've studied. How to apply the word of God to our everyday life. What is the practical application? I'd like to receive questions from our viewers regarding their struggles.
SHOW 3: Le` Beat This is my heart. Youth Bands will be interviewed, you'll hear their heart of worship, get to see them perform, hear their music. This is where we at Sword Music Group (a division of Declare The Word Internationl) will be able to assist and encourage the youth to stay within the Christian realm, by giving them their interviews on CD and DVD, they would be able to utilize these tools to procure bookings. We would also connect them with a studio to record their demos or CDs. If they have no performance video footage available for the interview, we'll shoot it, so that they and you can have the total viewing experience. After setting up the format, and getting it started, we would like to have a young person step forward and host the show, and continue it from there.
So, we ask that you stand with us in prayer and fasting for wisdom and strength to carry out the vision and mandate that God has given us for the start of 2007; because this is not all that we are called to do this year, this is only a very small part. We will be taking this boilerplate set up and teaching others to do the same so that we can effectually reach the world. We have already been asked to teach this to reach nations in Africa. I can't stop and think, "but I don't know how to do this." I can't lament and look at my shortcomings. ALL I KNOW.. IS "I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHENS ME." Philippians 4:13 So I get up and get going for the Glory of God!
