Does Jesus Know You?

There is no other way to heaven than the relationship of being known by the Son and doing the will of the Father. how else could you be saved? Rituals and ceremonies? Being baptized? Attending church? Being good? Knowing the Bible?

DTW#4001-T  $12.00 US  ( pack of 100)

Read the tract below:

In the Bible Jesus makes a hard statement: “Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father." Jesus goes on to say that many who even perform miracles and drive out demons in his name will not enter the kingdom "on that day." He declares, "I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Away from me!"

These words of Jesus make it very clear that a person can only enter heaven by being obedient to the will of the Father, and by being known by the Son. There is no other way to salvation.

Does Jesus know you? Do you know Jesus? Are you doing the will of the Father? If you cannot answer "yes" to each of these questions, you will spend eternity apart from God.

Are you skeptical about that last statement; even angry? If so, you must think there is some other way to be saved.

Do you think your salvation comes from reciting creeds or statements of faith, or even by participating in religious ceremonies such as confirmation? These have their place in the church, but God warns: "People . . . honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me." God wants your heart.

Do you think you are saved by being baptized? Many people do, but baptism is to be the first act of obedience to God after you believe: "Those who accepted his message were baptized;" "The Lord opened her heart to respond . . .[and] she . . . [was] baptized;" “Many . . . believed and were baptized."

Do you think you earn salvation by attending church regularly, or by doing "church work'? Human effort does not bring salvation: "It is by grace you [are] saved, through faith"and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by [human] works." This also means that you are not saved by "being a good person." The Bible says, "No one is good"except God alone."

Do you think you are saved if you know what the Bible says about the gospel of Jesus? You may believe with your mind that "Christ died for [your] sins . . . was buried . . . was raised on the third day," and "is seated at the right hand of God," but Jesus says that life comes not from knowing the scriptures, but from knowing him.

In order to know Jesus, and to be known by him, you must have a personal faith relationship with him  "a supernatural relationship." You must become united with him through his Holy Spirit.

This relationship only comes after you repent. Repentance begins with the overwhelming realization that in your very nature you are a sinner. You recognize your vast separation from God and know that only God, your Creator, can restore you. You become aware that your only hope is to ask God for forgiveness and to surrender your life back to him. This complete change of mind as to where you stand with God dramatically opens your heart to him!

Are you still skeptical? Do you think sinner is too strong a word to describe you? The Bible says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Does "all" not include you? If you think it doesn’t, you have succumbed to the most deadly sin of all: pride. Pride causes you to regard yourself as better than others. Pride blinds you to the reality that a holy God sees all humans as equally in need of forgiveness. Pride tells you that you don’t need to humble yourself and repent.

Pride is the most deadly sin of all because it always leads to unbelief "the only unforgivable sin." A person who stubbornly continues in prideful unbelief is refusing to accept God's loving gift of salvation made possible through Jesus, and witnessed by his Holy Spirit. As long as you refuse to accept his gift through repentance and belief, you will not receive his gift.

Perhaps you still think you will be saved because you feel that somehow a truly loving God will save everyone. No! God lovingly gave humans free will. He respects you enough to allow you to freely choose, or to freely reject, him. He will never force you to accept him against your will. To believe and be saved is your choice, but you must make that choice. As long as your will is set against God, you will remain apart from God.

Don’t you want to spend eternity in heaven with God? Jesus says, "The work [will] of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." Repent and believe in Jesus, the Son, and let him know you now before it is too late! Pray this prayer from your heart: Lord Jesus, I know that my sin has kept me from knowing you. I believe that you died on the cross as a sacrifice for my sin. I ask you now for your saving gift of forgiveness. Please send your Holy Spirit to live within me. I believe I now know you and am known by you and am at last doing the will of the Father! Thank you, Lord! Amen.

For God So Loved the World

Is there really such a God? Is there really a happy ending? How does sending his Son to die make this happy ending possible? What must humans do to share in the happy ending?

DTW#4002-T  $12.00 US ( pack of 100)

Read the tract below:

The most familiar verse in the Bible is John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Even if you have never opened a Bible or set foot in a church, you probably know this verse.

The primary reason this verse is so well known is because it addresses universal yearnings in every human heart. It speaks of a loving God who longs to save us from evil and give us joyful, eternal life in heaven with no more suffering and tears. The verse also raises questions that affect each and every one of us at the deepest level of our being. Does such a God really exist? Is there really eternal life? What does it mean to “believe” in this Son of God and receive this life?

An atheist says there is no God at all. All matter came through some cosmic accident and was developed by both natural laws and chance. But, human reason tells us that matter did not occur by chance; something can’t come from nothing, let alone evolve into a complex, organized system like the universe.

There are few true atheists, however. Most of us sense that there is another “spiritual” realm or dimension unable to be discerned through normal human physical perceptions. And, if our reason tells us that the physical universe did not come into existence by accident, a logical conclusion is that it came into existence through activity in this spiritual realm. The Hebrew Bible, which Christians call the Old Testament, verifies this. It states that a spiritual being (God), “In the beginning . . . created the heavens and the earth.” This spiritual being was, and is, fundamental to all existence. The Bible says God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all- present. God exists. God is eternal. God is life. God is love.

Throughout the Old Testament God is given the characteristics of personality. God’s primary attributes are love, goodness, and justice. It stands to reason that a personal, loving God is the only type of Higher Power that would create. An impersonal, non-feeling Higher “Force” would not create; what would be its purpose? An evil Higher Power would be incapable of creating; evil seeks only to destroy.

But, if the personal Creator God is only loving, and good, and just, where did evil come from, and why does it exist? The Old Testament says that God created spiritual beings capable of choosing unity with him, or opposition. Any opposition to pure goodness (God) is evil. One of these beings, Satan, chose to oppose God and led many others into heavenly revolt. God banished them to earth. We know them as the devil, and demons.

God then created humans “in his own image” with the ability to make rational moral choices. Without this freedom humans would be nothing more than robots; we could not freely choose to love God or each other. The Old Testament says that Satan tempted the first humans to disobey God’s commands. Satan said the man and woman would then “be like God” knowing both “good and evil.” Thus, evil came into the world, and humans fell under sin’s power, separated from God.

Did God know this was going to happen? Of course. Humans’ free moral choice made it inevitable. And, once we humans chose evil, there was nothing we could do on our own to return to God. And, God’s pure justice demands a penalty for our disobedience: eternal separation—hell.

But, God, also being pure love, found a solution to the conflict between the punishment required by justice, and love’s need to restore. God’s solution, decided before creation, was to take the penalty for sin upon himself. God sent Jesus, his Son. Jesus is the Messiah predicted in the Hebrew Bible, and is the Christ of the Christian New Testament. On earth, Jesus was both God and man. Evil sought to destroy him and had him crucified, but God, the Father in heaven, restored Jesus to eternal life. Through Jesus, who died in our place, God overcame the mandatory penalty of eternal separation. Justice was served.

The Father’s love through Christ’s sacrifice makes it possible for human reconciliation with God; yet, John 3:16 says that we must believe in Jesus to receive this reconciliation. This belief is a spiritual transformation which occurs when we realize that we are separated from God by our sin, turn to God for forgiveness, and accept the free gift of salvation through his Son. We are “born again” into God’s eternal kingdom.

If you have not responded to God’s love and experienced this spiritual transformation, you will perish. By your own choice you will spend eternity apart from God and all that is good. Believe in Jesus and live!

Lord Jesus, I believe that you are God the Son the Father sent to die in my place, taking the penalty for my sin. I ask you to forgive me and accept me into your eternal kingdom. I believe now that I am saved and born again through your Holy Spirit. Praise you, Lord!  Amen.

God Helps Those Who Help Themselves?

This old saying is not in the Bible- it is the opposite of what the Bible says about Salvation. How does our willingness to humble ourselves and let God be our strength save us?
